Insurance replacement rentals, made simple

If your car is in the shop after a collision, your policy may cover a rental while it's repaired. MapleWheels handles the coordination with your adjuster and body shop — so you just drive.

The basics

What is a replacement rental?

When your vehicle is damaged in a covered accident and can't be driven, many Ontario auto policies include loss-of-use coverage. This pays for a temporary rental — usually up to a daily dollar amount and a total limit — while your car is repaired or replaced.

MapleWheels specializes in exactly these rentals. We're familiar with how Ontario claims work, we match you to a comparable vehicle within your limit, and we bill your insurer directly wherever the claim allows.

Coverage isn't automatic — loss-of-use is an endorsement on your policy. We'll help you confirm what your specific coverage allows before you commit to anything.

Step by step

How your claim rental works

Five simple steps from the moment you call us to the day you return the car.

1

Reach out with your claim

Call or fill out our form with your insurer, claim number (if you have it), and where you are in the GTA. No claim number yet? We can still get you started.

2

We verify your coverage

We help confirm your loss-of-use limit — the daily rate and maximum your policy permits — so there are no surprises.

3

We coordinate with your adjuster

We contact your adjuster or broker to arrange approval and set up direct billing where your insurer supports it.

4

Pick up or get it delivered

Choose a comparable vehicle class within your limit. We deliver across Toronto and the GTA — to your home, office, or body shop.

5

Drive until your car is ready — then return

Keep the rental for the duration of approved repairs. When your vehicle is fixed, return ours and we settle the paperwork with your insurer. If repairs run long, we coordinate any extension with your adjuster.

Insurance rental FAQ

Will I pay anything out of pocket?

If your policy includes loss-of-use coverage and we bill your insurer directly, you'll often pay little or nothing for the rental itself. You may be responsible for amounts above your daily/maximum limit, upgrades, fuel, or optional extras. We're upfront about any costs before you sign.

What if I don't have loss-of-use coverage?

You can still rent from us as a regular customer. If you were not at fault, the other driver's insurer may cover your rental — we can help you understand your options, or you can rent at our standard everyday rates.

How quickly can I get a car?

In many cases, same day or next morning once your claim details are confirmed. We keep a range of classes ready across the GTA and offer delivery to speed things up.

What kind of vehicle will I get?

We match you to a class comparable to your own vehicle, within your policy's daily limit. Want something larger or nicer? You can upgrade and simply cover the difference.

What happens if repairs take longer than expected?

We coordinate extensions with your adjuster so your coverage continues without a gap, as long as your policy limit allows. No need to re-do paperwork each time.

Which insurers do you work with?

We work with most major Ontario insurers and brokers. If you're not sure whether yours is supported for direct billing, just ask — we'll confirm before you book.
